Iran’s ‘A Hero’ named one of best movies of 2021

Iranian feature ‘A Hero’ has been announced as one of the 50 best movies of 2021, according to an annual poll of an American film industry and review website.

IndieWire said that Asghar Farhadi’s ‘A Hero’ landed at No. 23 on its poll.

Some 187 film critics from across the world participated in this year’s survey.

“All participants were required to vote only for films that received theatrical, streaming, or VOD releases in the US over the past calendar year,” the IndieWire reported.

‘A Hero’ is about Rahim, a divorced man who has been imprisoned due to unpaid debt. During a two-day leave, Rahim tries to prove that he is a good person.

The movie is starring Amir Jadidi, Mohsen Tanabandeh and Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee.

‘A Hero’ was awarded the Grand Prix at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in France.

It also grabbed three awards at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the US.
